Laminated safety glass (VSG)

Composite safety glass made of two glass panes bonded with a PVB film.

Laminated safety glass (German: VSG) is two glass panes bonded with a polyvinyl butyral (PVB) film. On breakage, fragments stick to the film and don't fall — important for overhead glazing and hospital/care environments. Less common for shower enclosures (heavier, more expensive than ESG), but used in architect builds for very large glass walls.
